WG5 Meeting

At our first in-person meeting of WG5 “Career Development in Later Life and Retirement” (held on September 19-20), we welcomed in Bologna thirty-four participants from 16 countries. Each participant shared their research interests and expertise. Following this, attendees collaborated in small groups and engaged in an insightful exchange to explore potential research projects and partnerships.

The results of these discussions were shared in a plenary session at the conclusion of the meeting. Several core topics were presented, among others, rethinking retirement and retirement age, defining retirement within the lifespan, context- and country-specific factors influencing career development and retirement, as well as the impact of AI and technology on career trajectories.
