WG4 Meeting

Eighteen scientists and practitioners, members of the Working Group 4 of the LeverAge network, met on June 18-19, 2024, in Vilnius at the ISM University of Management and Economics for their first in-person meeting. The meeting addressed one of the key topics related to an ageing and age-diverse workforce: Aging and Technology in the Workplace.

Over the two-day event, 13 participants attended in person, while 5 joined online. They engaged in various innovative activities aimed at facilitating knowledge sharing and consolidating the interdisciplinary research network. Key topics included, but were not limited to, the implications of technology and digitalization for work and older workers in terms of productivity, motivation, career development, health, and wellbeing, as well as challenges related to new forms of working such as telework, digital, and hybrid work.

The participants also recognised the necessity and relevance of conducting a cross-country study among selected COST Action members, focusing on the effect of digital ageism on digital technology usage among older workers. This meeting marked a significant step in advancing understanding and addressing the challenges of an age-diverse workforce in a rapidly evolving technological landscape through evidence-based practices.
