Bio: Abdullah IŞIK: I completed my undergraduate studies in Social Work at Hacettepe University. Following this, I completed my master's degrees in Social Work at Manisa Celal Bayar University and Social Policy at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University. I completed my doctorate in Social Work at Selçuk University with a thesis on Age-Based Discrimination/Ageism in the Sinop Example. I began my professional career in 2013 at the Ministry of Family and Social Policies (as it was then called). That same year, I started my academic career in higher education. I worked as a Research Assistant and Assistant Professor at Sinop University, Hacettepe University, and Manisa Celal Bayar University. I have been working as the founding Head of the Social Work Department at Sinop University Faculty of Health Sciences, continuing my academic career as an Associate Professor since 2022. I am currently the director of the University of Third Age, which we started in Sinop, the city with the highest gerontological population in Türkiye. I will also continue my work as the founding director of the Elderly Welfare and Aging Studies Practice and Research Center (SUYAŞAM) in 2025.
